Profile

I did my co-op for Virginia Systems and Technology (VaST) in Warrenton, Virginia, for three terms. VaST is a federal contractor specializing in software implementation. I worked on the software development team making software for use by the federal government.

I decided to co-op to gain experience creating software and to learn about working in the federal contracting industry. I also wanted to experience what working in my field would be like after graduation.

My most significant achievement during my work term is when I completed a software package that was used by clients and received feedback on its use in real applications.

My co-op has taught me how to work with a team and act in a professional setting. I got a chance to apply many of the skills I learned in class and got a better appreciation for the subjects I'm studying. A co-op is an invaluable part of your college career. Working in industry will not only give you a better idea of what you'll do after graduation, but you'll make connections for jobs after graduation.

I am training for a marathon so I love distance running! I also like to hike and play board games with my friends.

Feel free to contact me or anyone at the Professional Practice office if you have any questions. We're here for you!
